A.J. Reeves, 74, of New Hope, TN died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in an East Ridge Nursing Home.

He was a US Army veteran and had worked for many years at BASF in Chattanooga as a lab technician. He was preceded in death by his father, William Claude Reeves; mother, Alice Pearl Peoples Reeves Choate; step-father, Riley Choate; and brothers, Calvin, Jerry and Darwin Choate.

Mr. Reeves is survived by his daughter, Sandra Kaye (Dion) Reeves Cooper of Ooltewah, TN; sisters, Lila Choate Mack of Tucson, AZ and Sue Choate Whitefield of New Hope; uncle, Wallace (Ann) Peoples of South Pittsburg, TN; 2 grandchildren, Kadie and Sierra Cooper; former wife of 41 years, Glenda Henderson Reeves; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 1PM Central Time. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 5-9 PM CST at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
