Daniel Aaron Thomas
12/3/1982 – 7/15/2026
Jasper, Tennessee
Daniel Aaron Thomas, 43, of Jasper, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Born on December 3, 1982, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Aaron was a 2001 graduate of Lookout Valley High School and earned his degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2007. It was there that he met the love of his life, Ashley, beginning a partnership built on love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Aaron was a passionate sports fan who faithfully cheered for the University of Alabama, the Atlanta Braves, and with good humor, the Atlanta Falcons. While he enjoyed following his favorite teams, nothing brought him greater joy than watching his son, Trent, play for the South Pittsburg Pirates. His family was the center of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Aaron also loved cooking and grilling for family and friends, creating lasting memories around the table. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved Labrador, Asher, and was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and genuine friendship. Aaron never met a stranger, and his warmth and compassion touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His absence will be deeply felt by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Rick Hawkins; his great-grandparents, Robert and Louise Daniel and Ira and Nettie Avans; his grandparents, Danny Joe and Patsy Avans and Carl and Eva Thomas; and his father-in-law and dear friend, Jim Webb, with whom he shared a special bond.
Aaron is survived by his devoted wife, Ashley (Webb) Thomas; his cherished son, Trenton Aaron Thomas, who, along with Ashley, was his absolute world; his mother, LaShawn Hawkins; his father, Carl (Joann) Thomas; mother-in-law, Beth O’Leary Webb; sister, Carla (Brian) Carroll and their daughter, London; his brother, Adam (Jessie) Thomas and their children, Isaiah and Serenity; his stepsister, Christian (Jeremy) Frazier; his stepbrothers, Justin (Christine) Hawkins and Brandon Hawkins; and many beloved extended family members and dear friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Thomas, Brad Appleberry, Matt Harveston, Derek Layne, Ryan O'Leary, Mark O'Leary, Justin Hawkins, and Greg Lehr.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. (CDT) in the South Pittsburg chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, 400 Laurel Ave, South Pittsburg, TN with Pastor Ken Cox and Pastor Nick Pickett officiating.
A private burial will be held at Cumberland View Cemetery, Kimball, Tennessee.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Rogers Funeral Home from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (CDT) prior to the funeral service in the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established an account for Trent’s college education. Memorial donations may be made at Builtwell Bank (Trent Thomas College Fund)
