Agnes Rector

Agnes Jane Rector, 77, from the Sweentens Cove Community of South Pittsburg, went to her heavenly home on Friday, September 10, 2021.

Agnes was born on September 5, 1944 to the late Greene Avans and Zada Bess Avans.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Elizabeth Avans and Belle Irene Ledford; brother, Johnny "Bad Eye" Evans; granddaughter, Amber Rector.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years Dudley "Pete" Rector; sons, Petie (Trina Bell) Rector of South Pittsburg, David Allen Rector of Hazel Green, Ala; daughters, Margaret (Vernon) Smith of South Pittsburg, Sharon (Tracy) Austin of Dunlap, TN,; grandchildren, Jeffery "JD" Bowman of  Forest City, Ark., Amanda Wilson, Kelly (Kathy) Smith, and Mike (Wendy) Smith of South Pittsburg; Hunter (Mallory) Henson of Whitwell, TN; Cole (KG)  and Ezera Henson of South Pittsburg; Kelly (Kaylan) Rector, of Soddy Daisy; and Hunter Austin of Dunlap, TN;  Coby Kirk Stevenson, Jessica Kirk of Bridgeport, ALa; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Eloise Hood of Whitwell, TN; mother-in-law, Virgie Rector of South Pittsburg; several in-laws, nieces and nephews and a host of special friends.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 12:00 (noon) (CST) in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home of South Pittsburg with Bro. Steve Patterson officiating.

Interment will follow at Beene-Raulston Cemetery in Sweetens Cove, South Pittsburg, TN.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 p.m. (CST) and on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (CST) prior to the funeral service in the chapel.

Pallbearers are Mike Kemp, John Rector, David Avans, Jim Rector, Jody Rector and Tommy Rector.

Honorary pallbearers, Hunter Henson, Cole Henson, Jim Cordell, Mike Smith, Kelly Smith and Jason Hood.

Mask to be worn at your on discretion.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga, for the care given to Agnes and her family.
