Allion Franklin Nichols, 71, of Whitwell, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 1, 2018.

A longtime resident of the Whitwell area, Mr. Nichols was raised on Signal Mountain by his parents, Jim and Georgia Barnes. He was a veteran of the United States Army, honorably serving his country during the Vietnam War. He retired from Brown's Fencing after many years of service.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Nichols; daughters, Becky McNabb and Brandy Reeves; sister, Geneva Singleton; brothers, Alvin, Jimmy, Cecil, and Herbert Joe Barnes, Johnny Nichols; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Barnett.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Bridget Nichols; children, Phillip Nichols, Sr. (Cynthia) of Dunlap, Darlene Thomas (Gary Hall) of Dunlap, Mary Jones (Johnny Green) of Whitwell and Joshua Nichols of Whitwell; sisters, Martha Barnett of Whitwell, and Lois Nichols of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, P.J., Ashley, Matthew, Christopher, Karissa, Jeffery, Austin, Hunter, Katie and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Mason, Parker, Haven, Rylee and Wavery; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM CDT, Saturday, August 4, 2018 in the funeral home chapel with Brother Charlie Keener and Brother Danny Chance officiating.

Burial to follow at Whitwell Memorial Cemetery, Whitwell, Tennessee with full military honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, August 3, 2018, from 3:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be given to the family to help with final expenses.
