Mrs. Alma Jean Sharp, 75, of South Pittsburg died Sunday, June 18, 2006 in a local hospital. Daughter of the late Edgar C. and Sarah Alline Rackler Welch, she retired from South Pittsburg Municipal hospital after many years and was a recipient of the Frist Humanitarian Award for her service to the HCA Hospitals. She was also preceded in death by her son, Johnny Dale Sharp, sister, Carrie "Punk" Rich and brother, "Buster" Welch.She is survived by her children, Jackie Massey, Donna Kay Sharp and William Lynn "Bucky" Sharp all of South Pittsburg; five grandchildren, Wade Allen, Kevin "Buster" Allen, Wendy May, Rendi Sharp and Ryan Sharp; great-grandchildren, Luke Allen, Corrina Buchanan, Breanna Allen, Coby Sharp, Brent Vinson, Jacob Vinson and Luke Henson; sisters, Fannie "Bill" Mashburn, Faye "Fat" Rowe, Mary "Tiny" Mashburn and Margaret Rogers all of Bridgeport, AL; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at 1 PM CST with Reverend Jeff Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.The family will recieve friends Tuesday evening from 4-9 PM CST at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Mrs. Sharp.
