Annie "Peggy" Lawson, 87, of New Hope, Tennessee died Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in a local nursing home.

The daughter of the late Lewis & Alma Williford Blevins, she was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She began working in mills at the age of 14 ending her working career when the Pittsburg Knitting Mill closed its doors.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Lawson; three brothers, James "Tab", Mitchell, Hubert, and Charles Dean Blevins.

She is survived by her son, Labron (Margaret) Lawson; grandchildren, Kristen (Brent) Phillips and Josh (Morgan) Lawson; great-grandchildren, River and Lakelyn Phillips, and Memphis and Wyatt Lawson; sisters, Maggie (Hershel) Reynolds and Charlsie (Jerry) Crosslin; brothers, Gerald (Wilma) Blevins, and Lewis "Bugs" (Donna) Blevins, Jr.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Central time on Thursday, December 12, 2019. Interment will be at New Hope Cemetery in New Hope, Tennessee.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday, December 12th from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Central time.
