Obituary

Mrs. Ava Lee McCullough Vance, 95, formerly of Sequatchie, TN died Monday, March 17, 2008 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility.
The daughter of the late Alonzo and Pheobia Ables McCullough, she had been a member of McKendree United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She was educated at the George Peabody TEachers College and did her post-graduate work at State College in Murfreesboro. She and her late husband, Mr. Thomas Byrd Vance, Jr., owned and operated Vance Furniture Company in Jasper for many years. She also taught at Jasper Elementary School and served as principal at Whiteside School and Sequatchie School.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Phoebe A. Vance of Chattanooga; nieces, Lynn Broyles, Vicki & Tommy Rogers, Dinah & Robert Hoch, Linda & Alex Broyles; sisters-in-law, Ann Vance and Marilynn Broyles.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 2 PM CDT with Reverend David Tabor officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 AM until service time at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper.
