Mrs. Barbara Samples Allison, 87 of the Sweetens Cove Community in South Pittsburg, TN died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at her home.The daughter of the late Clara Bell Davis Samples and Larry Samples, she was a member of the Sweetens Cove Church of Christ and worked as a manager for many years at the Dixie Freeze in South Pittsburg. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Eli Clayton Allison, son, Roger Allison, sister, Polly Raulston, brothers, Miles and Sonny Samples and two infant siblings.She is survived by her sons, Jimmy (Margie) Allison of South Pittsburg and David (Emily) Allison of Kimball; grandchildren, Keely Allison of Austin, TX, Jenny (Sam) Perry of Eugene, Oregon, Eli Allison II and Jared Cash both of Kimball, TN; sisters, Betty (Bill) Newton of South Pittsburg and Nancy (Jimmy) Ashley of Stevenson, AL; brothers, George "Tobe" Samples and Kenneth (Darlene) Samples both of Bridgeport, AL, Joe Samples and E.P. Samples both of Orlando, FL; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Church of Christ at 2pm Central time on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 with Tim Storey and Benton Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends for visitation from 4-8pm Central time on Monday, February 20th at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sweetens Cove Church of Christ, c/o JoAnn Walker, 1977 Fishtrap Road, South Pittsburg, TN 37380.
