Barbara Carter, 86, of Whitwell, TN, went to be with Lord on Friday, September 1, 2023.

Barbara loved spending time and taking care of her beloved puppies.  She enjoyed collecting vintage glassware and loved her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James B. and Bessie Prestwood; husband, Vernon Carter; son, David Carter; brother, James Prestwood; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Prestwood.

Survivors include her three daughters, Deborah (Bobby) Smith, Dana Chaudoin, Dawn (Philip) Ownby; grandchildren, Brian (Susan) Philpott, Brandon (Amanda) Philpott, Aaron Ownby and Madalyn Ownby; sister, Myrtle Harris; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. (CDT) in the South Pittsburg chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Case officiating.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. (CDT) at the funeral home prior to the funeral service in the chapel at 6:00 p.m. (CDT).
