Barbara Jean (née Freeman) Tonguette passed away on August, Tuesday, 20, 2024.

Barb was born on November 16, 1943, at her grandmother's house in Jasper, TN.

At a young age, she moved with her parents to Akron, Ohio, where she was raised. Barb graduated from Springfield High School and went on to meet her future husband at the Pogo Drive-In. After their marriage, they moved to Mogadore, OH, where they raised their family. They were members of Mogadore Baptist Church, where Barb taught Sunday School every week alongside her best friend, Mrs. Gloria Price, who was surely waiting at the pearly gates with the biggest smile!

In 1991, Barb and Bob retired to Poinciana, FL, where Barb returned to work at her favorite place on Earth, Disney. She enjoyed 15 more years there before retiring again.

Barb was preceded in death by her loving parents, Grady and Nannie Mae Freeman (née Casteel), her husband of 62 years, Robert "Bob" Tonguette, her great-grandson, Hunter Cramer, and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Freeman.

Barb is survived by her son, Alan Tonguette, her daughter, Suzanne (David) Trevillian, her grandson, Robert Cramer, her great-granddaughter, Kylie Mae Cramer, her brother, Dan Freeman, her sister, Mary (George) Forgit, her uncles, Tex and Johnnie Casteel, and her aunt, Susie Moree. She is also survived by several nieces, cousins, and loving friends, including Frances and Terry Mustard, as well as many friends from Mogadore Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. (CST) at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jasper, Tennessee with Pastor Roger Webb officiating.

Mrs. Tonguette will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (CST) at the (Jasper Chapel) of Rogers Funeral Home, 21 East Fifth Street, Jasper, Tennessee, 37347 prior to the graveside service at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jasper, Tennessee.

Pallbearers will be David Trevillian, Robert Cramer, Robert Casteel, Jonathon Casteel, Bob Moree and George Forgit.
