Barnell Lovelady Tipton, 92, of South Pittsburg, TN went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 7, 2014.
She was a devoted member of Mount Bethlehem Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie & Beeler Massey Lovelady; husband, William Edward Tipton, Sr.; brothers, Walter Clark, Frank, Charlie and Theodus Lovelady; sisters, Dorothy Turner, Marie Brandon and Louise Sammons; children, William Edward Tipton, Jr., Minnie Louise Stinson, Gwendolyn Denise Tipton, Lillie Marie Tipton and an infant son.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Robert Lee (Jeanette) Tipton of Chattanooga, TN; four daughters, Iva Lee (John) Turner of Chicago, IL, Dorothy Jean (Herman) Morrow of Calumet Park, IL, Anna Hale and Linda Tipton both of South Pittsburg; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Luther) Duboise and Margaret Sammons both of Akron, OH; sisters-in-law, Mary Lovelady of San Diego, CA and Evelyn Lovelady of Chattanooga, TN; daughter-in-law, Willie Tipton of South Pittsburg; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Mount Bethlehem Baptist Church in South Pittsburg at 2:00 pm Central time on Friday, June 13, 2014. Interment will follow at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, TN.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1:00 pm until service time.
