Mrs. Mary Beatrice Moody Burnette, 83, of Sequatchie, TN, died Saturday, June 11 at her home following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Jacob Luther and Sophia Mae Rodgers Moody. She was a member of the Jasper Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a lifelong resident of Marion County. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Edmonds and Lucille McClanahan.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John A. Burnette, of Sequatchie, TN., daughters, Doris (Jim) Price of Sequatchie, TN and Becky (Ronnie) Parker of Jasper, TN; four grandchildren, Amanda (Jacob) Dawson, Jamie (Shane)Thomasson, Nicholas and Jonathan Parker; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, June 13, 2011 from 2:00 -9:00 PM Central Time at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper. Funeral services will be conducted from the Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 1:00 PM Central Time with Pastor Ron Follett officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Jasper Adventist Christian School, 787 Tennessee 150, Jasper, TN 37347 .
