Bertha Jo Pemberton Dame, 62, of Jasper, awoke in the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 17, 2012.

The daughter of the late Jeff and Pearl Pemberton, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte "Sissy" Barnett.

Bertha was a long-time employee of Jasper Elementary School where she worked as a librarian assistant. She loved to work with all the teachers and students, and they all held a special place in her heart. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Baptist Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, David (Angela) Dame of South Pittsburg, Sharon (Michael) Fulfer of Jasper, her sister, Jane Rogers of Jasper, her grandchildren, Savannah and Sara Dame and Dillon and Erica Fulfer, and several very special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper at 3:00pm Friday, October 19, with Rev. Gene Lewis and Rev. Roger Webb officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 18, from 3:30pm to 9:00pm.
