Betty Jane Flowers Brown, 97, of Jasper, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at her home.
She was born on April 15, 1923 in Richard City, Tennessee, the eldest daughter of Troy Lee and Mary Inez Flowers. She attended Richard Hardy Memorial School and graduated from South Pittsburg High School in 1941. After completing her coursework at Edmondson Business College, she resided and worked in Chattanooga until marrying her husband of 62 years, Dallas, and moving to Jasper in 1948. Betty worked as a secretary for the Marion County School System for a number of years before joining Dallas in the family hardware business in Jasper, from which they both retired in 1995. She was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church in Jasper, and for many years volunteered at the Jasper Public Library. Betty loved her geraniums, old westerns and sitting on her porch enjoying the afternoon breeze. Those that knew her will cherish the memory of her quick wit and warm smile. She loved her family most of all, especially the little ones, and she will be greatly missed by all.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Troy Lee and Mary Inez Flowers, Stepfather Donald Morgan, her husband Dallas Brown, brother Troy Lee Flowers, Jr., and sister Billie Sue Learn.
Those left to cherish her memory include son Rusty and daughter-in-law Anne Brown, son Jeff Brown, grandson Andy and wife Samantha Brown and their children Dixie, Jackson and Ethan, granddaughter, Holly Christensen; several nieces and nephews.
