Betty Sue Kilgore, 93, of Jasper, TN, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2023 at home.

Born in Dunlap, TN Betty Sue was the daughter of the late Howard Graham and Lera Hixson Graham. She graduated from Sequatchie County High School and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She had a lifelong membership at Welch's Chapel United Methodist Church, Dunlap, TN.

After graduating from college, Betty Sue worked as an Agriculture Extension Agent for the State of Tennessee. She married Melvin Loyd Kilgore on April 10, 1958 and they resided in Richard City, TN for many years and later in life split their time between Richard City and her beloved Dunlap farm.

Betty Sue was a devoted wife and aunt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Loyd Kilgore; sisters-in-law, Patsy Kilgore and Imogene Vinson; brother-in-law, Raymond Vinson and nephew Randall Vinson.

She is survived by her brother-in-law, J. Kyle Kilgore, DDS; nieces and nephews – Rosa Vinson, Bobby (Kathy) Vinson, Sharon Kellerman, Libba Estep (Marc) Carter, Joe Kyle (Carroll) Kilgore, II, Kayla Kilgore (Dana) Morrison and many great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. (CDT) at Pine Grove Cemetery, Jasper, TN, with the Pastor Greg Steele officiating.

Active pallbearers are Stuart Vinson, Mark Vinson, Adam Kilgore, Andy McGowan, Katelyn McGowan and Marc Carter.

The family wishes to express appreciation to special friends who provided excellent care over the last four years: Hazel Kelly, Lisa Long, Betty Reynolds and Karen Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church, Jasper, TN where she most recently attended.

There will be no public visitation at the funeral home.
