Mrs. Betty Sanders McNabb, 78, of Jasper, TN died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in a local nursing home.
The daughter of the late Lawrence B. and Minnie Beatrice McHone Sanders, she was a member of the New Beginnnings Church of God and a lifelong member of the Church of God. A lifelong resident of Marion County, she was born into a family of four children, and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked briefly as a bridle maker for Simco Leather Company, but "Nannie," as she was known to a host of neighbors and friends, spent the majority of her life loving and caring for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Benjamin McNabb, sister, Frances Sewell and brother, Willard Sanders.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Jones of Jasper and Doris McNabb of Chickamauga, GA; and two sons, Wayne (Kathy) McNabb and Benny (Linda) McNabb all of Jasper; grandchildren, Lotchia Jones, Lamar (Janice) Tate, Aaron (Elizabeth) Tate, Julie Tate, Luke (Leeann) Tate, Calvin (Sacha) McNabb, Kacie (Jeff) Howard, Haley McNabb, Bentley (Mike) Williamson and Doug Tinker; eight great-grandchildren, Dylan & Morgan Tate, Madelyn & Hannah Tate, Morgan & Chase McNabb, Madison Littlejohn and Lennox Williamson; brother, James Leon Sanders; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the New Beginnings Church of God on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2 PM CST with Reverend Jack Sexton, James Basham and Reverend Jerry Gilliam officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, October 22 from 4-9pm and Friday from 10am - 9pm CST at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper.
