Betty Templeton Quarles, 72, of Jasper, TN died Monday, January 30, 2017 in a Chattanooga hospital.

The daughter of the late Leslie Benton & Vera Marie Walker Templeton, she was a devoted wife and mother. She graduated from Central High School in Cookeville, TN in 1962 and went on to graduate from Tennessee Tech with her Bachelor's Degree in 1965. She began working for the USDA/FHA (now Rural Development) in 1965, retiring in 2003 after 38 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jason Eric Quarles.

She is survived by her husband, Benny Don Quarles; daughter, Leslie (Robert) Barnette; grandchildren, Ella and Elijah Barnette all of Jasper, TN; uncles, Bud (Loretta) Templeton of St. Louis, MO and Billy (Dorothy) Templeton of Springfield, OH; aunt, Janis Lewis of Sheffield, OH; brother-in-law, Robert (Herlene) Quarles; sister-in-law, Faye Hankins both of Jasper, TN; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 11:00 am Central time on Friday, February 3, 2017. Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, February 2nd from 4-8 pm Central time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
