Mrs. Betty Louise Reeves Shook, 83, of Jasper, TN passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012.

Betty Reeves Shook was born in Bridgeport, AL in 1929, the only child of George and Lena Reeves. She moved to South Pittsburg, TN at the age of 12. Mrs. Shook graduated from South Pittsburg High School in 1947 where she served as SPHS May Queen. She was a member of The Kimball Church of Christ. Mrs. Shook was active in the community; served as a Gray Lady at Erlanger Hospital in 1950s, Cub Scout leader and substitute teacher at SPES. She also lived in Oak Ridge, TN from 1967 to 1995, where she attended the Highland View Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 50 years, James N. Shook.

She is survived by her son, Tom Shook of Southlake, TX; daughters, Anne Rask of Sequatchie, TN and Vero Beach, FL; and Pat Guth of Spring, TX; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two cousins, Barbara Jacks of New Market, AL and W.C. Lawhorn of Huntsville, AL.

Funeral services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 4pm Central Time officiated by Billy Watkins. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2pm to service time.
