Betty Louise Roberson Grimes, 79, of the Kelly's Ferry Community in Chattanooga, formerly of Long Island, Alabama, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital.
The daughter of the late Charles Isam and Margaret Alice Bates Roberson, she was of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Hershel Grimes and brothers, AC, Sam and Johnny Roberson.
She is survived by five daughters, Deborah Dobbins of Chattanooga, Rita Hardin of Fyffe, AL, Frida Grimes of Chattanooga, Lisa (Donald) Douglas of Fyffe, AL and Teresa Shirley of Chattanooga; sons, Johnny Grimes of Chattanooga and Gary Grimes of Dalton, GA; sister-in-law, Lena Roberson of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Tammy Mulkey, Sabrina Upshaw, Cody Douglas, Jerry Hardin, Jr., James W.A. Hardin, Tiffany Hardin, Bridgett Westmoreland, Amber Grimes, Joe Grimes, Krystal Grimes, Carrie Grimes and Veronica Grimes; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 28th at 3pm Central time with Bobby Westmoreland and David Roberson officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, May 27th from 11am until 8pm Central time at the funeral home.
