Betty Ruth Sharp Childers, 82, of South Pittsburg, TN died Tuesday, May 12, 2009 in a local nursing home. The daughter of the late William Russell and Elizabeth Venable Sharp, she was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters and one grandson. She was a retired employee of Galaxy Carpet Mills and Wal-Mart and was a member of the First Baptist Church in South Pittsburg. She is survived by her children, Glenda (Buster) Faris and Jerry Childers both of South Pittsburg; grandchildren, Candy Owens (Doug) Anderson of Palmer, TN, Amber Childers of South Pittsburg, Justin Childers of South Pittsburg and Shawn McAllister of Texas; great-grandson, C.J. Anderson of Palmer; brother, Elmer Sharp of Scottsboro; AL and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 14th at 2pm CDT, from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronnie Case officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 13th from 4pm to 9pm CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
