Betty Morgan Wynne, 79, of South Pittsburg, died Wednesday in a Chattanooga hospital.The daughter of the late Luke M. and Jessie Sparkman Morgan, she was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda M. Phillips, and an infant son.An active member of First Baptist Church, she was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class, was the former Sunday School Secretary, a choir member, and was active in community service. She enjoyed cooking, camping, traveling, and especially her grandchildren.Mrs. Wynne is survived by her husband of 57 years, William Lee Wynne of South Pittsburg, one son, William M. Wynne and wife Bonnie, one daughter, Elise Layne and husband Chris, two grandchildren, Kristen Wynne Layne and William Taylor Layne, one brother, Harold Dean Morgan and wife Joan, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00am at the First Baptist Church in South Pittsburg, with Rev. Charlie Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends on Friday evening between the hours of 5:00pm and 8:00pm at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church.
