Beulah Belle Freeman Smallwood, 91, of South Pittsburg, TN, died Monday, April 23, 2007 in a Chattanooga hospital.She was a lifelong resident of South Pittsburg, the daughter of the late Charles Benjamin and Nannie Beulah Thomas Freeman. She was a member of South Pittsburg First Baptist Church, where she taught the Fidelis Sunday School Class and was active in many other church activities. She was retired from Sequatchie Valley Electric Cooperative where she served as a secretary for 25 years.She was preceded in death by one son, William Earl Smallwood, a grandson, Paul Smallwood, brother, Pearl Eugene Freeman, and three siblings that died as children, Rossie, Charles Jr. and Inez Freeman.She is survived by one daughter, Jean Smallwood Hall and husband, Robert of Huntsville, AL, daughter-in-law, Judith Smallwood, sister, Louise Durham, both of South Pittsburg; five granddaughters, Lorri Doss and husband Jack of Huntsville, AL, Cheryl Core and husband Randall of Oviedo, FL, Lesley Hall of Orlando, FL, and Vamela Edgeman and husband Brian of Ringgold, GA; seven great-grandchildren, Christopher and Caroline Allen of Huntsville, AL, Justin, Tyler and Jackson Core of Oviedo, FL, Brittany and Brandon Edgeman of Ringgold, GA; one nephew, Robert Durham of Whitwell, TN; one niece, Beverly Tate of South Pittsburg.Funeral services will be conducted from the First Baptist Church in South Pittsburg at 11 AM CDT on Friday, April 27, 2007, with Rev. Charlie Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 PM CDT on Thursday, April 26,2007 at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
