Billie Sue Havron McClanahan, 80 of Sequatchie, TN went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Memorial Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Jasper, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Jasper and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She and her late husband, Tom R. Anderson owned and operated Jasper Drug Co. for 32 years. She was active for many years with the Marion County Volunteer Support Committee, the Red Cross Volunteers and the Marion County Sheriff's Children's fund. She was a member, along with her husband, of the Tri-State Loafers Campers Club and a past member of the Star Twirlers Square Dance Club. She will always be remembered by family and friends for her thoughtfulness and generous spirit.
Billie Sue was preceded in death by her first husband, Tom R. Anderson; father, Arthur "Jack" Havron; mother, Mildred Hornsby Kelly and son, Robert H. Anderson.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 33 years, William F. "Bill" McClanahan of Sequatchie; sons, Sam T. (Sandra) Anderson of Jasper, TN, William K. (Sherry) Anderson of Liberty, TX; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Robert A. Anderson of Starke, FL; grandchildren, Tom Anderson of Murfreesboro, TN, Susan (Scott) Sutherland of Jasper and Elizabeth Anderson of Liberty, TX; great-grandchildren, Carson and Nathan Anderson, Abbey and Eli Sutherland.
In lieu of flowers, it was Billie's request that memorial contributions be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 200 Central Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37403, The Marion County Children's Fund, c/o Beverly Steele, 568 Sweetens Cove Road, South Pittsburg, TN 37380; the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, or your favorite church or charity.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday evening from 4-8 PM CST at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper. A graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 26 at 10am at Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper.
