Obituary

Billie Ann Johnson, slipped into the arms of her Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at her residence.

Born on April 29, 1936 in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, she was a former member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church, which she helped found. She left South Pittsburg at an early age and joined New Light Beulah Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA, where she received the Distinguished Award for 50 years as an usher. Later she was married to James C. Johnson on March 19, 1966.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred "Tookie" & Annie Mae Hale Williams; brother, Fred "Breeze" Williams, Jr.; sister, Deborah McCamey; and brother-in-law, Alvin Taylor.

Survivors include sisters, Freddie W. Hill and Patsy Taylor both of South Pittsburg; sister-in-law, Gloria Williams of Chattanooga, Tennessee; aunt, Katherine Walker of Bridgeport, Alabama; special cousins, Lucy Greer and Dorothy Davis; special friends, Frank Kelley and Barry Wayne; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Central time on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg with Elder Robert Tate officiating. Interment will be in Gaines Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 am until service time.
