Mr. Bobby Gene Austin, 76, of Bridgeport, AL died Thursday, August 14, 2008 in a local nursing home.
The son of the late Jesse and Grace Pearl Walker Austin, he was a US Air Force Veteran. He was a carpenter and electrician and a member of the IBEW #175 and the Southern Carpenters Union.
He is survived by his son, Donald Austin of Woodstock, GA; daughter, Christina Verespey of San Ramon, California; grandchildren, Jake Austin, Josey and Steven Verespey; brother, Ray Austin of South Pittsburg; sister, Ann Gudger of Bridgeport, AL; and step-mother, Lola Austin of South Pittsburg.
Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 2 PM CDT on Sunday, August 17, 2008. Interment will be in Walker Cemetery in Bridgeport, AL.
The family will gather with friends for visitation on Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 5-7 PM CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
