Bobby Joe Rogers, 78, lifelong resident of Bridgeport, AL passed away on January 8, 2013 at Grandview Medical Center.

He was of the Baptist Faith. Bobby was an avid fisherman and golfer, a member of Bass Anglers Sportsman's Society Weekend Series and North Jackson Bass club. He was a retired agent of CSX Transportation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Bernice Rogers of Bridgeport, AL.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marvetta Dyer Rogers of Bridgeport, Alabama; one son, Bobby Dale Rogers of Bridgeport, AL; one daughter, Robyn Thomas of Arlington, Texas; 5 Grandchildren, Stephen Thomas, Euless, TX; Allen Thomas, Delray Beach, FL; Shanna Thomas, Asheville, NC; Bobby Joe Rogers II (BJ), South Pittsburg, TN; Andrew Rogers, Jasper, TN; Two brothers, James L Rogers, Atlanta, GA; Tommy Rogers, Bridgeport, AL; Two sisters, Lois Rogers, Signal Mountain, TN and Linda Gibbs, Spring City, TN; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 11th at 10 am Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 4 - 9 pm Central time at the funeral home.
