Bobby Lee Wells, 89, of South Pittsburg, TN, died on Monday, May 11, 2020.

The son of the late Robert Benjamin and Opal Griffin Wells, he was born July 23, 1930 in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas.

He was a member of Kimball Baptist Church and worked in power operations for TVA for 28 years, retiring on August 26, 1985 at Widows Creek Fossil Plant.  He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Navy from May 1, 1952 to April 26, 1954 serving first on the USS Albany and later as an aircraft mechanic at Pensacola NAS, Florida. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and control line model planes and cars.  He was a self-taught civil and mechanical engineer and architect.

He was preceded in death by his son Phillip L. Wells.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Ricky) Smith of South Pittsburg; sons, Gary (Tena) Wells of Scottsboro, AL and Ronnie (Kathy) Wells of South Pittsburg, TN; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Interment will be on Wednesday May 13, 2020 at the Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery in Chattanooga.
