Sadly, the time has come to say farewell to Bonnie Evelyn Caldwell VanDyke, who passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020. Bonnie was born on December 26, 1942, and was the ninth of ten children whose parents were Stanley and Millie Caldwell.

At the tender age of eighteen, Bonnie married Kenneth Cambridge (Johnny) VanDyke, II, and together they had Garnet Maria, Jo Bonita, and Kenneth Cambridge, III. Almost a decade later, they had Barbara Allen, who died in infancy and whose presence was always missed. Soon after came Marion Stanley.

The talented Bonnie grew up singing and playing the piano and became a church pianist and Sunday school teacher. She was also a poet and songwriter for most of her life. During her junior year of high school, she was a beautiful member of the homecoming court at Marion County Highschool in Jasper, Tennessee, and graduated from there the next year in 1960. Later, as her children grew up, she went back to school and entered the career world as a licensed practical nurse.

Bonnie loved her surviving husband and children as well as her very prolific family and their offspring. Of her siblings she is survived by her loving sister Velma Caldwell McCreary and younger brother Jerry Caldwell. Among her surviving friends, whom she also loved, are Hazel Marcee, Jerry and Marlene Sutterfield, along with Sisters in the Lord, Sue and Charlotte.

Last respects for Bonnie will begin at Rogers Funeral Home, Jasper Chapel 21st and E. 5 ^th St., Japser, TN, 37347, on Monday, July 13, 2020, with visitation at 11:00 AM (CST) and accompanying service at 1:00 PM (CST). She will then be laid to peaceful rest in Burns Cemetery on Sequatchie Mountain, Tennessee, beside her beloved parents.

She was much loved, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Goodbye for now sweet Bonnie.
