Mrs. Brenda Patton Jackson, 70, of South Pittsburg, TN, passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 9, 2012.
The daughter of the late Chris and Vella Mae Lamberson Patton, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Annetta Jo Patton Edwards. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Bethlehem Baptist Church, had worked as a nurse for many years at South Pittsburg Municipal Hospital, Rivermont/The Bridge Nursing Home, and North Jackson Nursing Home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Benjamin Jackson, daughter, Pamela Jackson Sims, sons, B. Tyrone (Diane) Jackson, all of South Pittsburg, TN, Christopher McKinley (Alexis) Jackson, of Toney, AL; four grandchildren, Celentria (Tony) Player, of East Chicago, IN, Brooke Sims, of Huntsville, AL, Tera Jackson, of South Pittsburg, TN, and Elyse Jackson, of Toney, AL; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, William Don (Grace) Patton, of Chattanooga, TN, Drake Patton, of Jasper, Jerome Patton, of South Pittsburg; four sisters, Billie Chitty, Betty (Gentle) Jackson and Martha Reynolds, all of South Pittsburg, Judy (Larry) Moore of Memphis, TN; Mother-in-law, Odessa Jackson, Brother-in-law, Clyde (Elzada) Jackson, Earl Jackson, Alvin (Darlene) Jackson, Sisters-in-law, Charlsie ( Elias) Edwards, Dorothy Jackson, Edna (Terry) Battle; several nieces and nephews; support system, Gladys Wooten; and Special Friend, Gail Martin.
Funeral services will be held at Mount Bethlehem Baptist Church on Saturday, May12, 2010 at 1:00pm with Rev. Jonathan R. Young officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Friday, May 11, from 6-7pm central time.
