C.E. "Pete" Lewis, 80, of Jasper, TN died in a Chattanooga hospital on Monday, July 25, 2011.

The son of the late Dave and Edna Hudson Lewis, he was a Veteran of the US Army, a member of the South Pittsburg Church of Christ and retired after 42 years of service with Chemtron Corporation. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Bill, Dave, John, Harlan, Charles and Robert Lewis and sisters, Lona Lee Goforth, Mildred Wilkerson and Jennie Totten.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frankie S. Lewis; his children, Dennis (Lana) Lewis, Pam (Wesley) Huggins, Vickie Lewis all of Jasper, TN and Cindy (Matt) Yates of Benton, TN; sisters, Willena Dillard of Hixson, TN and Wanda (Leon) Rash of Jasper; brother, Steve (Charlene) Lewis of Whitwell; grandchildren, Heather Lewis, Dawn Lewis Quarles, Jessica, John and Erica Huggins; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special caregiver, Charlotte Grimes.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 5-9 pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper.

Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be conducted at 1:30 Central time on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Interment will immediately follow.
