Carol Carter Wooten, 75, of Jasper, TN passed away Monday, September 7, 2015 in a Chattanooga hospital.


The daughter of the late Harley & Georgia Grubbs Carter, she was a native of Guild, TN, a co-owner of Bruce's Discount Sales in Jasper, TN and had worked for many years as a cook at Jasper Middle School Cafeteria. She attended First Baptist Church in Jasper and Jasper Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She had also been employed at Linda's Beauty Shop in Jasper and in the Dietary department at the South Pittsburg and Whitwell Hospitals.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bruce Wooten and sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Bill Shields.

She is survived by her daughter, Marcella Wooten of Chattanooga, TN; son, Alan "Rocky" (Mellannie) Wooten of Greenbriar, TN; grandchildren, Tanner and Harley Wooten; brothers, Aaron (Barbara) Carter of Huntsville, AL and Vick (Sherry) Carter of East Ridge, TN; sister, Harlene (Harold) Briggs of Ashland, MA; several nieces and nephews; special neighbors and friends too numerous to mention; and her favorite companion - her dog - Critter.


Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 1:00pm Central time on Thursday, September 10, 2015. Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.


The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8pm Central time at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 10 from 10am until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
