Catherine Foster Allen, 83, of Fort Oglethorpe, GA died Friday, June 24, 2016 in a local nursing home.

The daughter of the late Claude C. and Elizabeth Foster, she was a phlebotomist with Diagnostic Hospital, retiring from LabCorp (formerly Allied Labs). She attended the Church of Christ in Hooker, GA. A loving mother and grandmother, she spent most of her later years caring for and doting on her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Green Beret Sergeant First Class Raymond Allen (killed in action in Vietnam) and eight siblings, Velva Garnet, Claude C. Foster, Jr., RC Foster, Parham Foster, Asynion Flury, Mable Foster, Mildred Huskey and Helen Tinker.

She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Ron) Gilbert of South Pittsburg, TN and Kay (Bob) Gilbert of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Katlyn Gilbert, Elijah Gilbert, Ashley (Blaine) Johnston, Audrey (Geoffrey) Goldsberry and Chase Gilbert; great-grandsons, Sawyer Gilbert and Wendell Johnston; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Central time on Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Church of Christ in South Pittsburg, TN.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg from 5-9pm Central time on Sunday, June 26, 2016.
