Mr. Charles Christopher Mays, 45, of South Pittsburg, TN died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at his home.
Having been diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the age of 15, Chris lived his life to the fullest. He was noted for his striking blue eyes and great personality. He graduated from Milan High School, where he was a letterman on their State Championship Football Team, was an Eagle Scout, having earned his God & Country Award, a Congressional Page and received a BA/BS degree from Union University. He was a scratch golfer and loved gardening and travelling throughout the world. He was past president of the Construction Financial Managers Association and owned and operated Liberty Tax Service in Hixson, TN.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, JR & Elva McNutt and grandfather, Oral A. Mays.
Survivors include his parents, Charles and Monicca Mays of South Pittsburg; brother, Keith (Pamela) Mays of Pine, Colorado; niece and nephew, Ashley and Taylor Mays of Fort Collins, Colorado; grandmother, Louise Mays Dillon; Aunt, Betty (James) Ruble all of Brandon, MS; Uncle, Rick (Jayne) McNutt of Harriman, TN and five cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 2pm Central Time, officiated by Billy Watkins and Bill Greer. Interment will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma, TN.
The family will receive friends at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 10am - 12noon and from 4pm - 9pm Central Time.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kimball Church of Christ Mission Fund or to the American Diabetes Association.
