Charles R. "Dickie" Walker, 74, of South Pittsburg, died Wednesday, October 25, 2006 in a Chattanooga hospital.He was a lifelong resident of South Pittsburg, the son of the late Holman J. and Etta Walker. He was a local businessman for many years having owned Walker Auto Parts store. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the Marion County Election Commission and a member of Marion Natural Gas Board in South Pittsburg and also a member of South Pittsburg First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Coates Walker, one son Nolan Coates; two brothers, Jerry Walker and Donnie Walker; one sister, Katherine Myers.He is survived by one daughter, Donna Coates Blansett and her husband, Donald; two grandchildren, Samantha Blansett Rector and her husband, Tommy and Matt Blansett; one great-grandson, Luke Rector, all of South Pittsburg; several nieces and nephews.Services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at 2 P.M., CST with Reverend Jeff Lane officiating.The family will receive friends, Friday evening from 6 until 9 P.M., CST at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
