Mr. Chester Blevins, 75, of Kimball, TN died Sunday, October 31, 2010 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility.
The son of the late Joseph Benjamin and Emmaline Pearl Massengale Blevins, he was an active member of Kimball Baptist Church. He was a supervisor at TAC Alloy for many years, served as a Kimball Alderman and on the park board. Mr. Blevins loved sports and was active in youth athletics as a baseball coach for many years.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, John, Lee, Jody, J.C, Allen and Donald Blevins; sisters, Beatrice Durham and Lydia Peoples.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Turney Blevins of Kimball; daughter and son-in-law, Shereen B. and Blane Stewart of Whitwell, TN; granddaughter, Aspen Stewart (Justin) Rains and great-grandchildren, Brylie and Braden Rains all of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Isabelle Durham of Ooltewah, TN, Dorothy Peoples of New Hope, TN and Pat Keef of Kimball; and brother, Gordon Blevins of Kimball.
Funeral services will be conducted at Kimball Baptist Church at 1:00PM Central Time on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 with Rev. Norman Payne officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.
The family will receive friends at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 from 4 - 9PM and at the church from 10AM until service time on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kimball Baptist's "Special Building Fund," 1500 Main Street, Kimball, TN 37347.
