Chris Patton, 96, of South Pittsburg, TN died Friday, March 9, 2007 in a local health care facility. He was the son of the late Will and Helen Patton.He was a remarkable man who led an extra remarkable life. He was loved by many people and Heaven's gain is truly our loss.He was a veteran of World War II, retired from the South Pittsburg Post Office and served for many years as Treasurer of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vella Mae Lamberson Patton, daughter, Annette Patton Edwards and son-in-law, John Chitty.He is survived by his daughters, Billie Chitty, Brenda (Benjamin) Jackson, Betty (Gentle Paul) Jackson, Martha Reynolds all of South Pittsburg and Judy (Larry) Moore of Memphis; sons, Jerome Patton of South Pittsburg, Drake Patton of Jasper and Don (Grace) Patton of Chattanooga.Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 4 PM CDT on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 with Pastor Lewis Powell officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery.There will be an open visitation from 1 PM CDT on Tuesday until service time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
