Obituary

Mr. Clarence Lavon Howard, Sr., 72, of New Hope, TN died Monday, February 11, 2013 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility.
The son of the late James Frank and Kate Doshel Blevins Howard, he was a railroad brakeman for Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad and Southern Railroad and lived in New Hope for most of his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Darrel Howard; daughter, Teresa Rowland; brother, Billy Howard and grandson, Trey Howard.
He is survived by his children, Clarence L. Howard, Jr. and wife, Mandy of South Pittsburg, Jeannie Howard Gothard and husband, Lamar of Kimball, TN, David Howard of South Pittsburg and Chris Howard of Marietta, GA; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Earl Howard; sisters, Josie Lee Huckabee and Mildred Phillips all of South Pittsburg; several nieces and nephews; and good friend, Brenda Kean of Fort Payne, AL.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 15th at 1pm Central at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg with Brother Wilford McGill officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 5-9pm Central at the funeral home.
