Clifford Lowery Matthews, 87, of Jasper, TN died Monday, August 23, 2010 at his home.
The son of the late James Lowery and Georgia Elizabeth McNabb Matthews, he was a heavy equipment operator at TVA and Brown Brothers for 22 years. He served the United States Army as a Master Sergeant during World War II, was a member of the Local 917 Operating Engineers and at Jasper First Baptist Church.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Marie Hale Matthews and three brothers, James Paul Matthews, Mack Andrew Matthews and Grover Cleveland Matthews.
He is survived by his brother, Donnie Matthews of Jasper and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 2PM Central Time, officiated by Rev. Roger Webb. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service time.
