Clinton Herbert Smith, 79, of Bryant, AL died in a Chattanooga hospital on Tuesday, June 7, 2011.
Preceded in death by his parents, Albert Ross and Lettie Virginia O'Neal Smith, the youngest of 9 children, he graduated from Bridgeport Public Schools in 1950 and had served in the US Air Force Reserve. He grew up in Long Island, AL, and lived in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia for a number of years where he worked for the National Security Agency. Mr. Smith was a member of the Kimball Church of Christ.
He is survived by one sister, Yvonne S. Mundy of Arlington, VA, sister-in-law, Glenda Smith of Bryant, AL and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg from 5:00 to 7:00PM, Thursday, June 9, 2011 with the funeral service to follow at 7:00PM Central time, with Billy Watkins officiating. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 10:00AM, at Harris Chapel Cemetery in Long Island, AL.
