Dale B. McCloud, 66, of Ooltewah, TN, died November 26, 2017, following a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.
The son of the late Roy Cecil and Willie Murlee Fowler McCloud, he was an IT Manager for Jacobs Engineering for 24 years. An avid fan of Alabama football, he spent many special Saturdays attending games with his daughter, Brooke. He served for many years as the statistician for the Football program at North Jackson High School, where he will be inducted into the NJHS Sports Hall of Fame in January, 2018. He was a member of the National Corvette Museum and an avid golfer, who played at least weekly until his illness. He also enjoyed participating in charity golf tournaments and traveling to play different courses around the country.
Dale was a very giving person who adored his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis and Remal McCloud.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brooke and Christopher Smith; grandchildren, Bella and Emma Smith; sister, Beatrice M. Jones; brothers, Vernon, Alton and Laren McCloud; several nieces and nephews; close friends, Sandy and Dion Cooper, and their children, Kadie and Sierra.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 5:00 pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00 pm Central time.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, www.stjude.org/tribute, or to the Beau Bean Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o First Southern State Bank, PO Box 548, Stevenson, AL 35772.
