Mr. Danny Steven Phillips, 61, a lifelong resident of Kimball, TN died on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in a local hospital. The son of the late Jerry Manuel and Gladys Gray Phillips, he was a former employee of the Laborer's Union #846. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He particularly enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his brother(s), Jerry Wayne Phillips and Louis "Sonny" Phillips.He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Julia Gist Phillips of Kimball; children, Keily (Dennis) Curtis, Carri Smith both of Kimball, Richard (April) Smith and James (Tara) Smith both of Marcellus, Michigan; fourteen grandchildren, Chasady, Ashlyn, Blaze, Chazz, Katelyn, Aspen, Grace, Calista, Jaylee, James, Kadance, Dean, Taylor, and Olivia; two special nephews, Butch and Chip Maynor; honorary sister (cousin), Barbara Saylers; very dear cousins, Bobby O'Leary, Ann Owensby, and Cheryl Becton; sister-in-law, Loretta Barnett; brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Billy Gist; family friend, Susan Carson; along with several other loving family members and many dear friends.Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 4pm Central time with Anthony Dishroon officiating.The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, February 23rd from 4-8pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
