Darcy Gildo Marcellini

June 9, 1937 – December 15, 2024

Jasper, Tennessee

After courageously and diligently fighting pancreatic cancer for over a year out of love for his family and dear wife Ruth, Darcy Marcellini succumbed to a heart attack at Memorial hospital in Chattanooga, TN on December 15, 2024, at age 87.

Born to a hard-working farming family who operated a farm near Crawfordsville, AR, Darcy, as the oldest son, came to be the one to manage the family farm in his young adulthood, after the untimely death of his father. He did this successfully for many years, while also looking after the welfare of his mother and younger brothers and sisters.  Later, he became sales manager at Dobbs ford in Memphis TN after some time, Darcy moved his family to Florida, where he was sales manager of Pelican Ford in Sarasota for many years then went to work in Bradenton Florida for Red Hoagland Chevrolet GMC for many years, successfully managing the truck sales department.  He received awards for his accomplishments for that organization, as well as from Florida Sherriff association.

In an effort to benefit the health of his then-wife Susan, Darcy chose Jasper, TN as the place to move to in 2010, where he later took a job working for Walmart in Kimball, TN.  He became a valued worker, known to many, including many customers who came to rely on him for advice and guidance.  After the death of Susan, he came to know Ruth, a fellow Walmart Associate, who introduced him to the Scriptural truths about our Creator, the Most High God Jehovah (Psalms 83:18), as well as His Son, our Savior, Christ Jesus.  In December 2015 they married, and for 9 years Darcy gave her the love, care, guidance and desire she needed and craved.

Darcy was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on June 22, 2019, and is a member of the Jasper congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.  He was a skillful gardener, and also could make Memphis-style smoked ribs of an excellence that would rival the best available on Beale Street or anywhere else!

He was preceded in death by his parents, father, E. G. Marcellini and brother, Peter Marcellini.

He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 9 years, Ruth Marcellini, and Brothers and Sisters; Brenda Lemus (Guillermo) of Silver Springs Md., Virginia Marcellini of West Memphis, Ark., Denise Joiner (William) of Marion Ark., Jerry Marcellini (Carole) of Marion Ark., and Terry Marcellini (Rebecca) of Bryant, Ala.
