David Michael Carnes, 64, of Cohutta, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

He lived a life centered in faith and the service of others, David leaves behind a legacy in the name of the great King Solomon, someone whom he strived to embody in every facet of his life.

His focus on foundational success ranged from the expert construction of the finest homes, to creating the most comfortable and serene settings designed to care for others in their ultimate time of need.

His infectious charisma and laughter made him a friend of anyone he met.  Though he will be dearly missed, his commitment and care for others will live on.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles "Rock" Carnes and Janice Muller, late wife, Sharon Kay Carnes and brother, Bill "Billy" Bristol.

Survivors include his wife, La Quetta Lucas Duckworth Carnes; children, Nikia Carnes Butler and Jeff Carnes (Sarah), stepchildren, LaQuey Rogers and Trace Kerns (fiancé Lainey), grandchildren, Kaileigh Butler and Noah Butler, Cayden Bryson and Paisley Carnes, Mahayla and Colt McJunkin, siblings, Charles, Paul, Mark, John, Lisa, Matt and Chris, and one very special Aunt Adele McCloud.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. (CST) at Unity Baptist Church Cemetery, 800 Unity Church Rd., Attalla, AL, 35954.

There will be no public visitation at the funeral home.
