Obituary

David Northcutt Jordan was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 4 th , 1961 to the late John Lamoyne and Lethia Swett Jordan. His earthly life span concluded on January 1 st , 2022. David passed as a firm believer of Jesus Christ, actively praying, and seeking Jesus through the word of God.

David was educated in Nashville Public Schools and was a graduate of McGavock High School. He continued his educational pursuits at Vanderbilt University where he earned a Bachelor's in Political Science, and at University of Tennessee, where he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence.

David was a passionate, faith-focused, joyful, loving, sweet and serving man who had a profound impact on everyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, growing his relationship with Christ, and watching movies. He especially loved his sons, nephews, nieces, and siblings and delighted in spending time with them. Many family members can attest to his jokes, hugs, laughs, and smiles that warmed their hearts so dearly, and brightened up their day. He had a tremendously positive impact on everyone, and will be dearly missed by all.

David was predeceased by his brothers John Lamoyne Jordan, Jr. and Walter Kenneth Jordan, and his parents John Lamoyne Jordan and Lethia Swett Jordan.

David's memory will be forever cherished, and his incredible life is evidenced by the branches extending from his life. He is survived by his three sons: Tyler Northcutt Jordan, Julian Austin Jordan and Daniel Sterling Jordan; sisters: Cheryl Collins, Kim Bingham, Susie Jordan, Jia Jordan and Jewel Jordan; Uncle, Ken Jordan, Uncle, David Swett and Aunt, Ann Wylie; Numerous nephews, nieces and friends who he treasured over the years.

The family would like for loved ones to be encouraged by this verse.

"Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him."

Service Considerations

The family requests guests follow COVID protocol for services.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. (CST) at Rogers Funeral Home, 400 Laurel Ave, South Pittsburg, Tennessee (423) 837-7176.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m (CST) prior to the service at the funeral home.
