David Lee Thomas, 72, of Chattanooga, TN died on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at his home.

The son of Robert Reece (“Bob”) Thomas, Sr. and Emma (“Emmy”) Lockert Rogers, he was born on June 8, 1953. He grew up in South Pittsburg, Tennessee and was a graduate of McCallie School in Chattanooga, TN.

From his earliest days, he was a fixture around his father’s business, Sequatchie Concrete Service, in South Pittsburg spending most of his time around the garage with his mentor, Horace Hibbs, working on concrete mixer trucks and heavy equipment; something he had a passion for all of his life. Having worked through nearly every aspect of the business, David was named President of the Company in 2012 and served in that role for several years. He was also the single largest shareholder of the company at the time of its sale. When not working, David was an avid golfer and boater. He played golf in many places across the country and around the world. He also loved spending time on his boat, which he named “Seamint.” David also enjoyed attending concerts around the country (especially Celine Dion) and seeing shows at the Tivoli Theater with Kim and just spending all of his free time with her.

David was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, William and Frank, and his niece Shanna Thomas.

He is survived by the love of his life, Kim Kisling, his step-mother, Susan Rogers Thomas, his brother, Reece (Deborah) Thomas, step-sister, Dayna (Tom) Eddy, nephews, Robert, Carl, Stephen (Leona) and Allen (Monica) Thomas, nieces, Jennifer and Emma Caroline Thomas, bonus family members Baxter, Chandler and Maximilian Bell, together with Amaius and Castille Bell, as well as numerous other extended family members and close friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. (CDT) in the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, 400 Laurel Ave, South Pittsburg, TN .

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. (CDT) at the funeral home prior to the memorial service in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in David’s memory to the Tivoli Foundation or McCallie School.
