IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David 'Bigun'
Walker Sr
November 22, 1947 – December 16, 2013
David 'Bigun' Walker, Sr., 66, of South Pittsburg, TN died Monday, December 16, 2013.
A retired employee of the South Pittsburg Housing Authority, having worked for many years in their maintenance department, he was considered to be part of the family by his co-workers. 'Bigun', as he was known to his friends, could frequently be seen around town collecting pecans that he then gave away to friends and neighbors. He was a very friendly person and was often found talking with his "family" at the Pirate, Dixie Freeze and the old Amoco station. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working with his brother, Bill in his landscaping business.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Evelyn Beatrice Donaldson Walker and step-brother, Steve Walker.
He is survived by his son, David Walker, Jr. of East Ridge, TN; brother, Bill Walker of South Pittsburg; sisters, Barbara (Don) Ragan of Jasper, TN and Sandra Hollingsworth of Hazel Green, AL; nephews, Greg Belk, Scott Belk, David Allen Rector, Larry Don Ragan and Pete Rector; several great-nieces and nephews; his "family" from the Pirate, Dixie Freeze and Amoco; and his beloved dog, Toby.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Friday, December 20th from 12-2pm Central time. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2pm Central time.
The family asks that casual clothing be worn for the services, "because that's what 'Bigun' would have wanted."
