Debra Jill Moore, adored wife of James Moore for nearly 32 years, passed away September 23, 2024 in Red Bank, Tennessee, surrounded by her loving family and the caring staff of Hearth Hospice and Solomon's House.
Born in Alliance, Ohio, on March 15, 1951, Debbie was the daughter of the late Donald and Betty Emerick. She was a beloved mother to daughter Allyson Jackson and son Brad Mitchell, step-mother to Kevin and Mark Moore, and cherished Didi to her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, children, son-in-law Jason Jackson, and three grandchildren, Debbie is survived by her sister-in-law Karen Emerick Stefanski, brother Kent Emerick, nephew Scott Emerick and niece Rebecca Wetzel. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Brian and Bruce Emerick.
Debbie spent over 25 years supporting transportation development in Northern Virginia and completed her Master's Degree in 2005 at George Mason University. She led her life with kindness and courage, the latter of which was tested during her successful battle against breast cancer in 1998 and later fight against FTD.
Debbie's family welcomes family and friends to visitation at Preddy Funeral Home, 59 Edgewood School Lane, Madison, VA at 10:00am on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 followed by interment at Rose Park Rapidan Cemetery, 318 Shelby Road, Madison, VA at 12:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers a donation to either The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration https://www.theaftd.org/?campaign=488718 or ALS Therapy Development Institute Donate | ALS Therapy Development Institute.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Preddy Funeral Home, 59 Edgewood School LN, Madison, Virginia 22727.
