Delisa Jo Hammons, 61, of Ceres, VA, formerly of South Pittsburg, TN, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

Delisa was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, caring friend, and devoted Christian.

She was a faithful worker at the church and loved studying and teaching Bible and loved her Lord Jesus.

Delisa loved to camp with her family, going to the beach, gardening, and home decorating.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. P.S. and Katherine Woody and Spiller and Audry Griffin; father, Don E. Griffin, Sr; stepfather, William Carmichael; father-in-law and mother-in-law, R.C. and Peggy Hammons.

Survived by her husband of 32 years, Neal Hammons; mother, Clara N. Carmichael; sisters, Yvonne O'Linger, and Carmen Gore; brothers, Don (Eddy) Griffin and Jason W. Griffin; sons, Bobby (Amanda) Scharer, Brandon (Andrea) Scharer, Cole Hammons; grandchildren, Asher Scharer, Elijah Scharer, Benjamin Scharer, Faelynn Scharer, Liam Scharer, Layla Scharer, and Lucas Hammons, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) in the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Pastor Rowland Buck and Pastor Jason Roe.

The burial will be at Harris Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (CDT) at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers will be River Griffin, Nic Grider, Chris Smith, Matthew Keene, John Cooper, Jeremy Jones, and Kendall Cooper.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bland Ministry Center, Bland, VA.
