Dennis Ray Elliott, 86, of Sequatchie, Tennessee, entered into the arms of his savior on Sunday, December 17, 2023. He passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.

He will be greatly missed by his: beautiful wife of 67 years, Margaret Keener Elliott; their daughters, Jan (Fred) Upton, Sherri (Bill Moss) Elliott, and Diana (Richard) Jost; grandchildren, Brandi (Eric) Gonzalez, Heather (Michal) Ryan, Mary Margaret Jost & Elliott Grace Jost; great-grandchildren, Joshua & Shannon Johnson, Mikey Ryan, and Justin Gonzalez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington Elliott and Maude Green Elliott; brothers, George Elliott, Jr. and Major Randal Elliott; sisters, Dorothy Elliott Worthington, Myrtle Elliott Waters, Maxine Elliott McCain, and Rachel Elliott Autry.

He was a proud US Navy Veteran and a master diesel mechanic. Among his many talents, he could 'fix' anything that was broken, had an artist's eye for welding and carpentry, and could identify every tree, plant, and bird encountered. He loved simplicity and appreciated beauty and bluegrass music. He valued God's gift of nature and undoubtedly adored his family.

He exhibited grace in the most difficult of times.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. (CST) in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, TN with Bro. Ronnie Case officiating.

Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery in Dunlap, TN.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (CST) at the funeral home in Jasper prior to the service in the chapel.

Pallbearers: Stanton Gillam, Richard Jost, Ethan Wooden, Mathew Wooden, Mike Wooden, and Fred Upton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dewey Gillam, Randy Gillam, Chris Stockburger and Thomas Stockburger.
