Don T. McEwen, 79 passed this life on Sunday morning, October 6, 2019.

Don was a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy, serving on four different aircraft carriers and at the naval hospital at Pensacola.

He was the Chief of the Battle Creek Volunteer Fire department for 24 years and worked tirelessly to help his community and the department.

He was a man with many interests and talents. He was a deacon for many years at his church, Kimball Baptist. Don enjoyed talking to people and had a deep faith in the Lord. He loved to work on his farm and got great satisfaction in seeing things grow.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann, whom he loved very dearly.

Don is survived by his sister, Ellie McEwen, nieces and nephews, Donna Reed, James "J.R." Reed, Billy F. "Butch" (Judy) McEwen Jr., Brenda (Steve) Holder, Vickki (Larry) Perugini and Carol (Dale) King.

Funeral services will be held at Kimball Baptist Church on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Central time with Pastor Bill Stafford, officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, October 10th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg and on Friday, October 11th from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
